NorthPoint Stand Up Paddle Classic
Le Tomahawk Bodyboard Surf Club et NorthPoint Surf Shop organisent, le weekend du 30 et 31 mai 2009, un nouvel événement entièrement consacré au SUP (stand up paddle) à Ladunvez/Porspoder sur la pointe nord ouest du Finistère en Bretagne. Ces deux jours ont pour objectif de regrouper, dans un cadre authentique, un maximum de passionnés de SUP d’horizons variés autour d’une manifestation conviviale. Cet événement sera l’occasion pour les compétiteurs de se confronter et d’offrir au public un bon aperçu de cette discipline encore assez récente sur nos côtes. Pour cela deux épreuves sont prévues : une course d’environ 4 km et une épreuve de surf.
En parallèle de la compétition, différentes animations seront proposées :
- Initiation au stand up paddle gratuite organisée par l’école de surf SweetSpot
- Test de matériel : un test de planches de la marque Paddle Surf Hawaï et de pagaies Kialoa sera proposé par NorthPoint Surf Shop et sunshort.com
- Un stand d’éco-citoyenneté sera mis en place par le Tomahawk Bodyboard Surf Club et le Comité Départemental de Surf du Finistère.
Dotée de 1000 euros de prize money, la « NorthPoint Stand Up Paddle Classic », première compétition du genre en France, espère bien rassembler des riders venus de différentes régions (France et Europe).
Programme prévisionnel :
Dates : 30/31 Mai 2009
Spots : Situées à quelques kilomètres l’une de l’autre, la Plage des Dames à Porspoder et la Plage de Penfoul à Landunvez ont été respectivement choisies pour accueillir les épreuves de Rame et de Surf. En fonction des conditions, l’épreuve de surf a possibilité d’être déplacée sur un reef voisin.
Le samedi :
- 9h/11h : accueil des participants et confirmation des inscriptions
- 11h /11h30 : briefing
- 11h30/19h : lancement des épreuves (course ou surf en fonction des conditions)
- 20h : soirée « hawaiienne » au bar « L’Océan »
Le dimanche :
- 9h/16h : suite et fin des épreuves
- 16h/17h : remise des prix
Les épreuves :
- une course d’environ 4 km : départ de la plage des Dames.
Matériel autorisé : board de 12’ maximum, les « raceboards » ne seront pas autorisées)
- une épreuve de stand up paddle surfing sur le spot de Penfoul
Coût de l’inscription :
- 10 euros par épreuve (l’inscription comprend : un t-shirt Hoalen, une collation samedi après midi, un pot le samedi soir et un panier repas le dimanche midi).
Prize money : 1000 euros
- 400 euros pour l’épreuve de surf
- 400 euros pour la course open
1er : 150 euros
2ème : 110 euros
3ème : 80 euros
4ème : 60 euros
Un chèque de 200 euros récompensera le vainqueur du combiné (meilleur classement sur les deux épreuves avec un coefficient de 1 pour la course et de 2 pour le surf).
La Northpoint Stand Up Paddle Classic, organisé par le Tomahawk Bodyboard Surf Club et NorthPoint surf shop, est soutenue par Paddle Surf Hawaii, Kialoa Paddle, Hoalen, les mairies de Landunvez et de Porspoder, Nautisme en Finistère, la CCPI et le Conseil Général du Finistère.

Au programme, une épreuve de surf sur le spot de Penfoul.
La course se déroulera sur la commune de Porspoder et plus précisément à la plage de Dames.
L'option reef pour les phases finales n'est pas exclue!
Le spot de la Chapelle pourrait acceuilir une partie de la compétition.
Penfoul, le sopt principal pour l'épreuve de surf.
